When it comes to right-hand point breaks, none can compare with Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa, a wave that has started careers and brought joy to anyone that’s paddled out into its waters. However, there’s more to J-Bay than just the wave. The town of Jeffrey’s Bay is home to 27,000 South Africans, many of whom need our help. It’s no question that the COVID-19 pandemic has hit communities of lesser means the hardest. Since the pandemic began, residents of Jeffrey’s Bay have had trouble finding work, feeding their families and sustaining normal living conditions.
J-Bay has given a lot to pro surfers Jordy Smith and Mikey February, and they want your help to give back. Both Mikey and Jordy have teamed up with their respective shapers, Britt Merrick of Channel Islands and Graham Smith (Jordy’s father) of SMTH Shapes to raffle off two custom boards each, and a 30-minute Zoom session with either Mikey and Britt or Jordy and Graham to discuss the boards.
The goal of the initiative is to purchase $30,000 worth of Corn Soya powder, which the organization says will be distributed and has the correct nutritional value to help provide healthy daily function for underprivileged people and families.
For only $5 USD per entry and with five days remaining in the raffle, don’t miss your chance to snag two custom surfboards from legendary shapers like Britt or Graham and spread some positivity in the process.
