The Inertia

We all have at least one friend we can spot from a mile away when they’re flying down the face of a wave. There’s a distinct posture and distinct mannerisms; the elements we like to call style when they’re all packaged together well.

Kai Hing is one of those surfers. That frontside layback turn of his alone is something you can’t miss, whether it’s because he pulls it out of his bag so often or because he does it with such exaggerated flair. Either way, it’s unmistakable. There’s explosiveness and a casual nature to the 21-year-old Australian’s surfing all at once. And it’s pretty impressive.
