Big wave surfing is no joke. Those who choose to pursue it must take training incredibly seriously if they want to survive. Though this video is a few years old, the intense big wave training that Maui surfer and Jaws staple Ian Walsh puts himself through is just as necessary now – considering the levels that big wave surfing is reaching. The training he did sounds pretty incredible. “After one day with training with him,” Walsh said about the man who runs the training program, “he was able to get me to 3:30 and dive down to a hundred feet.”
