By all accounts, the North Shore has been on an insane swell bender for a while now. Since the event began, the edits have been coming out fast and furious. From Nathan and John John Florence, to Koa Rothman, to Jamie O’Brien – the heavy hitters have all weighed in so far. Yet another update comes from Pipeline regular Koa Smith. This time, even he seems to be somewhat astounded by the sheer volume of insane waves they’ve been getting.
“North Shore has been on an absolute heater!” wrote Smith in the caption to his latest video. “The waves at Pipeline have been firing nonstop, and the forecast shows no signs of slowing down. In my years of living here this might be the best run of swell I’ve ever seen.
“Back-to-back swells have been lighting up Oahu like clockwork not just constant fun swells, we’re talking like solid PIPELINE 10-12 feet loading up on first reef! Making for some of the heaviest, most perfect Pipeline we’ve had. This is as good as it gets!”
