After a two-month hiatus from YouTube, Koa Smith is back, this time with a video from his latest trip to Skeleton Bay. “So sick to be back here,” said Smith of his return to Namibia. “This place has changed my life and introduced me to different feelings that I didn’t know existed.”
While Smith was joined by a host of pros and onlookers on the beach, including Kelly Slater, apparently his boards did not care to make it. This should probably come as a surprise to no one, as it’s just the latest in an epidemic of airlines losing surf equipment that previously seemed to primarily affect Nathan Florence for some reason. Undeterred, Smith waxed up a firehouse-red loaner board and paddled out.
“First part of the swell definitely filled in a bit. Just some crazy clean lines,” said Smith into his GoPro out in the lineup. “It’s for real out here. One part of the section you could get the absolute wave of your life.”
