Koa Rothman, as you might expect from a surfer who grew up with Pipeline in his backyard, is a big fan of barreling lefts. He also, as you might expect from a surfer who grew up with Pipeline in his backyard, is a big fan of waves that aren’t exactly safe. So it makes sense that he’s a big fan of Teahupoo, but since travel has been… well, a little more difficult for the last few years, it’s been a while since he’s been back. But now that restrictions are less restrictive, Koa and the This Is Livin’ crew decided a strike mission to Tahiti was long overdue.
The video you see above is the first day of the trip, and if the forecast plays out as it should, things are only going to get bigger and better. “The waves are only picking up throughout the week,” Koa wrote, “so stay tuned for the next video of massive Teahupoo!”
