Are you sick of it yet? Are you tired of the barrage of footage from one of the most incredible swells to hit the North Shore in years? We’re not. Not even close. The outer reefs blew up. Waimea went bonkers. Jaws was next level. Hell, the entire North Shore was terrifyingly big. It was a good few days for North Shore surfers, especially the ones that don’t shy away from the big stuff. Surfers like Koa Rothman, who spent the day surfing with John John Florence.
Interestingly, at about the 11:15 mark (above), we get a different perspective of the set that caused some serious PWC carnage. Koa’s vlog was shot from the yellow boat that you can see sprinting to make it over the set wave in the drone footage below.
It’s hard to imagine what it must have been like on a boat that day, but watching this video gives you a pretty good idea.
