The Inertia

Koa Rothman is back on the road. Recently, the Pipeline aficionado took a trip to Indonesia for an epic, marathon session at Supersucks.

Supersucks is a heavy left-hander located in West Sumbawa, Indonesia. Named for the way the wave sucks water off the underlying reef, the break is not for the faint of heart. Luckily, Rothman is anything but.

However, he did maybe have to shake the cobwebs off a little. As Koa revealed in his latest video, this recent Indonesian excursion was his first surf trip since getting injured back in August. At the time, Koa had been on a trip to Australia, when he smashed his foot mid-barrel, ending the trip and putting surfing temporarily on hold.

Based on his description of the 12-hour marathon session, though, it would appear he’s back in top form. “It was one of the longer days I’ve ever had of surfing, one of the funnest days I’ve ever had of surfing,” said Rothman afterwards.

Now that he’s back on the search, we’ll just have to wait and see where it takes him next.
