Usually when someone says something is going to be the “best _____ ever,” it’s hyperbolic. History is a long book, after all, and “ever” is a very long word, even though it only has four letters. But when Koa Rothman says “this is going to be the craziest day-and-a-half of Outer Banks, like, ever,” he could be right.
“It looks like a tiny little section of Namibia,” he said from Wilmington, North Carolina. “That wave in Africa. It looks insane.” The Outer Banks is a pretty magical place. It’s just a finger of sand stretching along the coast of North Carolina, and on its day, the waves there get very, very good. But when the waves get big, the Outer Banks isn’t exactly easy to get to. Roads are frequently closed or flooded but with the help of a few people along the way, Koa Rothman managed to get himself there and into some of the “biggest waves ever at Outer Banks.” Hyperbole? Maybe a little… but still, it looks like a pretty dang fun trip to us.
