Getting Heated is a fun little chunk of surfing. As you’re probably aware, each week Coco Ho, Ross Williams, and Mick Fanning — or some combination of the three, at least — sit down across a screen from each other and hash out a handful of relevant surfing topics. Sometimes, they’re joined by a guest, who hashes along with them and this week, that guest happens to be one Mr. Robert Kelly Slater.
Kelly Slater knows pro surfing. Possibly better than anyone else in the whole world. you don’t get 11 world titles by not knowing, after all, and Kelly basically drew the map of all of pro surfing’s twists and turns. This week, Kelly, Coco, and Ross talk about who realistically (aside from Filipe, Gabby, or Italo) has a shot at the men’s World Title, the chances that rookie superstar Morgan Cibilic stays in the final five by the end of the year, and the benefits of having serious rivalries on tour.
