One day, I will create an apparatus that allows me to lay down on a hydrofoil board so that I can fly through barrels. I will get whipped into a massive tube, spread my arms wide, and hum to the tune of Wind Beneath My Wings as I soar through a big blue cave. But until that apparatus is built, I urged pro surfers to try tow-in bodysurfing in hopes that someone would think it’s a solid enough idea to try it. There always has to be a starting point. At the 2014 Surfer Poll Awards, I sought out commentary from pros about towing into big waves while bodysurfing.
