There have been plenty of very good swells over the years. A million and one “Big Wednesdays.” Super Swell Saturday, Century Swell, etcetera. If they’re good enough, they get a name, but judging by the repetition, surfers ain’t the most creative bunch. One particular Century Swell stands out though: 2015 at Kandui. All these years later, it’s still at the top of the list for anyone lucky enough (and talented enough) to get a wave. Nobody Surf was kind enough to chuck 36 raw minutes from the day on YouTube, and it makes for some very good watching.
