The Inertia

It’s been a big week of surfing firsts. Yesterday, Nathan Florence found a new wave, and today, Kalani Robb is out here inventing new tricks (as far as we know).

Southern California mainstay Beefs TV journeyed down to Lowers with Robb and crew to document some unfiltered footage (Raw Beefs, if you will). Kalani came out the gate hot with a slow-motion reveal of his majestic mullet, but once you can get over the feelings of shock and admiration engendered by that sight, the real headline is the insane maneuver he pulls off shortly after paddling out.

Seen here in an Instagram post from Robb, he pulls off some sort of 360 roundhouse that may actually be the first documentation of an all new trick. Robb and his comment section seem to think so, at least. Robb captioned the clip with “What should we call this move???” and the suggestions have been pouring in.

He also threw in a face-first, split-leg dismount, just for style points. There’s just a lot to process, here.
