In both skateboarding and snowboarding, people like to slide on top of things other than pavement and snow. They grind rails, boxes, curbs, and anything else they can think of. Surfers, however, do not. Aside from Chris Cote’s Rail of Death all those years ago, grinding is not a surfing thing. But wait! As more boards become more foamy and less finny, should we not experience in the shallowest of conditions? Kalani Robb thinks so.
