If there are two things that cause a great divide in the surfing community, they are SUPs and Slater’s wave. Here’s a video of both of them smashed together. Kai Lenny, the world’s greatest waterman (yes, he is) took his sweeping stick to cow country for a session on the world’s greatest man-made wave (yes, it is). And since he’s Kai Lenny, he made it look fantastic. Truth be told, though, as SUP boards get shorter and the waves they’re surfing get better, when does the paddle become useless as a paddle and useful as a GoPro holder?
