Kai Lenny lives for Jaws. It was a long summer for those who wait for Hawaii’s big wave season, and while they certainly fill their time with big waves in other parts of the world, Jaws surfers always have it in the back of their mind. For people like Kai, other waves act as training ground for Maui’s biggest wave.
“After a long summer,” Kai wrote on YouTube, “Pe’ahi, aka Jaws, finally woke up. It wasn’t easy, the strong winds and long interval swell made it very difficult to paddle into the waves. But there are always the diamonds in the rough and I almost got the best barrel I’ve had out there.”
