When Kai Lenny is scared by the conditions, you know it was absolutely terrifying. On a day this weekend that many are calling the biggest Maverick’s in recent history, Kai was out in the water with a number of other chargers, navigating the big, wild, and bumpy conditions at the famous wave near Half Moon Bay. Kai keeps the GoPro pointed at himself and you can see how bumpy the faces are he’s trying to navigate. (His frontside toe is entirely over his inside rail to make sure the board stays engaged.) Then he packs barrels that are absolutely monstrous. Most of the time, the Maui native is wearing a concentrated look on his face. Until he gets picked up by the ski and has time to celebrate. Ah, one can only imagine the sweet relief.
