Kai Lenny and Nathan Florence joining forces is a thing to behold. The teamwork began last week, when the freesurfers and vloggers embarked on a trip to Namibia to hit up opening day for Skeleton Bay (along with everyone else in the world with a surfboard and a camera). However, the hunt for mythical 20-minute barrels wasn’t the end of the journey, as they now find themselves in South Africa for a visit to Jeffrey’s Bay.
“Oh my goodness, look at this wave!” exclaims Lenny with characteristic enthusiasm, as he watches the lineup from the window of their massive rental house in his latest post to YouTube. According to the caption, this was actually Lenny’s first time at the break. “Insane,” he continues. “We’ve made it. It’s one of the most perfect rights in the world.”
That turned out to be quite the understatement, as proven by clip after clip of picturesque waves that followed. Kai also threw in a bit of his trademark playful innovation by continually switching stances throughout. He’s one of the few surfers in the world who would decide to switch to goofy while on the face of one of the world’s most famous rights, and we’re here for it.
