The Inertia

Kai Lenny is a famously nice guy. He’s also famously good at just about anything to do with using the ocean as a playground, so when a 6-year-old boy named Everett asked to spend a day with him through the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Kai jumped at the opportunity.

“Honored to have been chosen by Everett aka ‘Kai Kai’ to have the ultimate WATERMAN day for his ‘Wish,'” Kai wrote. “I tried my best to make it the most fun day ever. He is such an enthusiastic young boy and is more fearless than I am. After what he went through, there wasn’t one thing we did on the water that deterred or scared him. He truly is a SUPER HERO!”

Kai took Everett out for a day packed full of incredibly fun things: surfing, foiling, kite surfing, and more. Before noon, they’d already checked off supsquatching, tandem surfing, and e-foiling. Then it was time for a quick soccer game and some lunch to fuel themselves up for the rest of the day. It’s lucky that Kai appears to have the energy of a 6-year-old, but you can bet that even Kai was worn out by the end of it all.

“Everett has endless energy, which is perfect for me,” Kai laughed. “We match up. We’re in sync. We’re non-stop!”
