Just before Christmas, Jaws opened up for business. As the swell ramped up, there were a few days that were just about perfect for warming up. Not the biggest of days, but good for someone like Kai Lenny to remember how, exactly, one surfs Jaws.
He took the opportunity to test out some new equipment, too. “Although the waves weren’t huge, they were perfect with no wind and an abundance of sets,” he wrote. “New board worked magically, 9’4” KT Surfing design that takes inspiration from paddle board and aerodynamic design with a windsurfing rocker.”
