Kai Lenny is on a mission. He wants to be the best big wave surfer in the world. He wants it very badly. Despite the fact that he might already be the best big wave surfer in the world, he’s still chasing that goal. Life of Kai, a new-ish series, follows him on his quest, and in this installment, we see Kai transition from a WQS event in China with very small waves to a trip to Portugal where the waves were very big.
To be the best on earth, of course, means you have to travel the earth. A lot. You need to be in one place one day, then move faster than the swell you’re surfing to get to another. This often means long flights, different time zones, airline food, and very little sleep. But for Kai Lenny, that’s all part and parcel of the life he’s chosen — and we’d bet he wouldn’t have it any other way.
