From Academy Award-Winning executive producers E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, the Edge of the Unknown with Jimmy Chin is set to premier on Monday, September 5 on National Geographic. The 10-part documentary series takes viewers behind the scenes and into the minds of pioneering adventure athletes as they recount pivotal moments in their lives that led to the mastery of their craft.
Among the featured athletes is legendary big wave surfer Justine Dupont. The French surfer was on a mission to defy gender stereotypes and push the sport forward for female athletes until a massive wipeout at Jaws set her back. Her episode, “Eaten by Jaws,” details the wipeout and how the major setback ultimately set her up for success in her sport.
Dupont’s episode will be available to stream on Disney+ (along with all other episodes in the series) on Sept. 7, and will make its broadcast debut on National Geographic on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
