Editor’s Note: We understand that there’s been a ton of Pipe footage lately. I mean, there’s no shortage of cameras on the sand and there’s been no shortage of massive caverns to be had. But, would you ever say to yourself, “I think I’ve had just about enough of these monster barrels,” and scroll right past an edit of some recent Pipe footage? Even when John John’s name is in the title? And the feature image is John hucking a huge backside air reverse… at Pipe? We didn’t think so, either.
This was all filmed at Pipeline and features some of Oahu’s best surfers (e.g. Jamie O’Brien and John John Florence). This video includes footage from six different days of filming on the North Shore.
I wanted to film at every time of the day (morning, afternoon, and sunset golden hour) so I could get every kind of lighting and color. This was all shot on my Sony A7s II with a Canon 70-200mm 4.0 lens. I used a Metabones smart adapter so I could use my Canon glass. 1080p @120fps. I edited with Adobe Premiere Pro and color graded with Lumetri. Enjoy!
