Julian Wilson already has his fair share of World Tour supporters but boy oh boy, if you can’t muster up the fan in you after watching this then you just might not have a soul. Otherwise, plan on getting a heart transplant after watching this because yours might actually melt.
Wilson became a father in February of 2018, welcoming Olivia Madison Wilson into the world. And Olivia is hands down the star of the show when it comes to dad’s new vlog series, In Between. You see, the name of the new series accurately describes exactly what it seems to be about: the time in between heats, contests, or any time typically spent under a spotlight and microscope. We often easily forget that professional athletes like Wilson and the 33 other men and 16 women making up the World Tour are human, mostly thanks to the fact that we rarely get to see them as anything other than competitors. These eight minutes from last month’s Corona Bali Protected will change that.
Bringing it back to little Olivia here, there’s a moment after Wilson loses his heat to Michael Rodrigues in the Round of 16 where the 2018 World Tour runner up comes to greet his family. Things haven’t been going well for the Australian as far as contest results go and you’d imagine this might get the best of most athletes. But Julian’s all smiles the second he sees Olivia and it’s gotta make you think the guy could never win a heat again and clearly, he’d be pretty darn content with life.
