Jordy Collins is doing things right. Not yet 20-years-old, the kid from Carlsbad is a junior NSSA champ and holds a third place trophy in the men’s division. He won the 2016 Surfing America series and like many other aspiring young surfers, he’s shooting for the big leagues, and he’s shooting for it soon. “It’s kind of like, if you don’t get there by around 22, the odds get worse for you,” he explained to Deseret News.
