John John Florence surfs a lot more than the average surfer. A lot more, in fact, and his talent allows him to ride waves in ways that that average surfer can only dream about. But despite the fact that he’s surfed the best waves in the world with only a few other people in the water while competing, his definition of a “fun day” is likely similar to yours: just good waves and good friends.
“This was easily one of the most fun days of surf we’ve had so far this winter,” he wrote. “The whole day was non-stop barrels. I surfed pretty much as long as I could, with a break to eat lunch.”
With him were brothers Nate and Ivan, as well as long-time friend Eli Olson. It’s a second installment of a video he dropped about a year ago called Out Front. This one, fittingly, is called Out Front 2.
Florence is lucky enough to call the North Shore home, which is likely a big part of why he’s the surfer he is today: one who excels in big, powerful waves. But when it’s a sunny day, the novelty waves are cranking, and the only ones in the water with you are your friends and family… well, that’s a tough day to beat.
