John John Florence, it seems, isn’t just a great surfer. He’s great at multi tasking. He didn’t simply compete in last year’s Australian leg of the Championship Tour. He and film partner Erik Knutson put together another banger while down under, an ode to the great expanse that is Australia: the Great Ocean Road (technically, a 240-kilometer stretch of highway along Oz’s southeastern coast between Allansford and Torquay). Once again, the duo created a beautiful piece of work.
“We try to always improve with what we are shooting, and how it’s put together when we document our travels,” wrote John John. “We have been trying to put a lot into these short film projects on the road and we’re excited to keep pushing them further. Australia is so wide open, with a lot of variety in the landscapes. It makes it easy for us to wake up inspired to shoot every day.”
No doubt, the landscape of the country lends itself to jaw-dropping cinematography. And John John’s (and his friends’) surfing is rather eye catching as well.
