When the sand piles up on the North Shore, funny things happen. Waves pop up that are unlike any that have popped up before. Crazy, sand-filled lumps of water that to most would be un-surfable closeouts. But to John John Florence, Kelly Slater, Jack Robinson, Eli Olson, and Ivan Florence, they’re more than just surfable. They’re downright awesome. Despite the fact that most of the world’s surfers wouldn’t have any luck at all out there, that group makes it look like maybe most of the world’s surfers could give it a solid go… but even still, we’d wager that they all left with a lot of sand packed in their shorts.
