The Inertia

Jon Pyzel is best known as the long-time shaper for John John Florence. Most notably, perhaps, are his Ghost models that Florence loves so much, but there are plenty of other surfboards that come from the Pzyel factory. One such surfboard is the Crisis Twin, which is sampled by Joel Centeio in this video.

“The Crisis Twin came from the Mid-Length Crisis, which is a much bigger board” Centeio says. “What Jon did is actually shrink this model down a bit, made it into a twin fin. From what I’m hearing, it’s super fast, really quick, really loose.”

Of course, a 5’11” twinnie isn’t generally a board that many would prefer to use during a pumping Hawaiian winter, but when the summer hits in Hawaii, the surfers still want to surf.

“I think it’ll go really good in a Chun’s type of wave,” Centeio continues. “Something that’s a little flatter; not too pockety… I’m really excited to get on this board. It looks super fun.”
