This year’s World Junior Championships was one for the books. Held at Seaside Reef in San Diego, California the juniors were gifted with one of the best and biggest swells California has received in years. With light, offshore winds and solid size waves, the event conditions were prime and the best young surfers in the world gathered to fight for a world title and a spot on the 2023 Challenger Series.
The juniors did not disappoint. They showcased impressive surfing and were rewarded with multiple excellent scores. On the men’s side, the final came down to Levi Slawson and Jarvis Earle, with Earle ultimately claiming the win. For the women, Sawyer Lindblad and Francisca Veselko went to head to head in the final. In the end, Veselko secured the title.
