Another day, another pronouncement of the opening of the Pipeline season. This one comes courtesy of Jamie O’Brien. The freesurfer took to YouTube to post an edit welcoming the onset of waves on surfing’s greatest stage, and to marvel at the insane crowds it inevitably brought.
“I got one barrel, two wipeouts, back’s all torqued. Kind of a trippy session,” described Jamie afterwards. “That’s what you get. Pipeline in the beginning of the winter. Just getting warmed up.”
However, there was a greater price to be paid than just fending off hordes of surfers in the lineup.”Let me tell you,” he continued. “I need to go to the chiropractor. My back is torqued hard. Hit the reef a couple times.” However, being a longtime Pipeline aficionado, JOB took it all in stride. “Nice way to start the winter,” he concluded.
