The Inertia

The Purcells are a stunning range of mountains. Located mostly in the southeast of British Columbia, they’re just to the west of the Rocky Mountain Trench and to the east of the Kootenays. Panarama and Kicking Horse are the two main resorts that are in the Purcells, but helicopter operations make good use of much of the rest of the terrain. Heli operations like CMH Heli, which Jamie O’Brien recently enlisted to take him and a group of friends on some of the most epic powder runs in the world.

Afterwards, they loaded up the vehicles and found themselves a little river wave, which is likely the “Mountain Wave” somewhere on the Kananaskis, which, as you can imagine, is not a warm river. Fed by glaciers, the rivers in and around that area are never warm — especially not this time of year. But when there’s a wave… well, Jamie’s going to give it a crack.
