Jamie O’Brien surfs mainland Mexico a lot. Not in the last year and a bit, of course, but he’s there right now on a semi-post-COVID trip, and he’s enjoying every second of it. He’s surfed most of the nooks and crannies around mainland Mexico, so when he says that “surfing in mainland Mexico doesn’t get any better than this,” it means something.
He’s there with Brad Domke, the guy who surfs skimboards on big waves better than pretty much anyone else in the world, and together they towed each other into some very fun, very serious waves. “When I was towing him,” Domke said, “I was like, ‘man, I just really want to get waves that fit what he does. He’s such an amazing surfer. He’s proved to the world that he’s one of the best barrel riders out there, and when I was towing him in, I just wanted to make sure that we got something of that caliber to show his skill level.”
Well, Brad, after watching, we can safely say that you accomplished your mission.
