The Inertia

If you watch surf vlogs, you’ve likely seen Jackson Lebsack. He’s generally behind the camera, and he’s generally pointing it at Jamie O’Brien. He was, for a while, a big part of Jamie’s vlogs — there were big plans to get him barreled at some point. But he’s not just good behind the camera. He’s a bit of a jack of all trades when it comes to action sports.

Back in 2019, he was hired for Ski.com’s Epic Dream Job, which, as the title suggests, is an epic dream job. From January to February 2019, he traveled to seven different countries on three separate continents. He rode at more than a dozen destinations available on the Epic Pass, including Whistler Blackcomb and Fernie in Canada; Vail, Park City and Breckenridge in the U.S.; Verbier in Switzerland; Courchevel in France and Hakuba Valley in Japan. He filmed the whole thing, and it set him on the path he’s on now.

Jackson has created a media powerhouse, and it’s growing every day. Now, he’s part of a four-man team that documents Jamie O’Brien’s life in Hawaii, but when he’s not flying a drone over the top of Pipeline, he’s always staying active. We knew this about him, of course. We knew he was good at lots of things, but in his latest YouTube offering, Lebsack wowed us completely with his kitesurfing abilities. Which shouldn’t actually surprise anyone given that he hails from the wind capital of North America – Hood River.
