Jacob Szekely recently took a trip to Rocky Point, along with seemingly every single other surfer in the world. With the winter season going strong, we’ve been seeing a lot of footage from the spot recently, including an edit with Mason Ho and Sheldon Paishon. The latest round of clips comes from Szekely’s YouTube channel, where he posted a vlog from his latest excursion.
“Heaviest crew and gnarliest session I’ve ever been a part of,” summed up Szekely as he emerged from the water afterwards. To back up his statement, he pointed out the horde of filmers scattered across the beach behind him, saying, “You know what that means. Every heavy hitter pro surfer in the world is out there.”
Indeed they were, as Zeke was in the lineup alongside names like Barron Mamiya, Mikey February, Balaram Stack and Coco Ho, to name a few. Rather than feeling intimidated by the stiff competition in the lineup, Zeke felt encouraged. “Surfing with bigger names and gnarlier people makes you want to go bigger and surf better,” he said. “Makes you just rise to the occasion.”
