Jacob Szekely has diversified his portfolio quite a bit lately. He’s branched out into novelty waves, event coverage and collabs with other YouTubers. However, the one thing he will always be best at is airs. To that end, Zeke traveled down to San Luis Obispo to get back to basics.
Szekely’s latest video reports back from the Still Frothy Air Show in Pismo Beach, California. The competition had a format that encouraged surfers to send it. Each surfer got ten minutes behind a ski to land two airs, earning a possible five points for the attempt, and five for the landing. It was a pool of 12 surfers that got whittled down to four who competed in the finals the following day.
“These are the contests that the WSL should be doing,” summed up Szekely. “Big air, high-flying, high-speed, tow-out contests for cash prizes.”
