The Inertia

The allure of Oahu’s south shore among surfers has long since faded. What was once the center of the surf universe now plays second fiddle to the more consequential and higher profile waves that pepper the island’s famed North Shore.

Still, for those with a penchant for longer craft, the reefs off Waikiki and in and around Honolulu still produce plenty of user-friendly, enjoyable surf. Just let Jacob Hardy here demonstrate.

The above is a bit of a cosmic sojourn through Hawaii from the vantage of a longboard enthusiast. Waikiki’s unmistakable beachfront high rises adorn the background of many a shot. The clip is proof there’s still plenty of fun to be had in knee-high Hawaiian waves.
