The Inertia

If you’re a person who watches surf vlogs, you’re likely aware of Jackson Lebsack. He was, for a while at least, one of the people behind the cameras that follow Jamie O’Brien, and as time went on, he became a relatively large part of the J.O.B. vlogosphere. But since he left that team, he’s struck out on his own. He’s not just good behind the camera or in the editing, bay, though — Lebsack is a bit of a Jack of all trades.

Back in 2019, he was hired for Ski.com’s Epic Dream Job, which, as the title suggests, is an epic dream job. From January to February 2019, he traveled to seven different countries on three separate continents. He rode at more than a dozen destinations available on the Epic Pass, including Whistler Blackcomb and Fernie in Canada; Vail, Park City and Breckenridge in the U.S.; Verbier in Switzerland; Courchevel in France and Hakuba Valley in Japan. He filmed the whole thing, and it set him on the path he’s on now.

In the most recent installment of his very own vlog, he decided to try something strange: foiling behind a river sternwheeler (we took a pair of surfers there in 2019 to do the same thing, it’s a hoot). Surfing weird waves is par for the surf vlog course these days. Get on a weird board, find a weird wave, and see what you can get up to on it. All in the name of a good time, right?
