The Inertia

There are few things better to do with your limited amount of time on this planet than to get in a van, point it south, and drive to southern Baja. The meandering, ribbon-thin roads lead through miles of nothing but rolling hills and cactuses. Trucks try and drive you off the roads. The sky is massive. There’s that section that jumps from west to east, full of boulders and valleys. It’s like a movie set, but real life.

On the west side, glimpses of firing waves. On the east, the most incredible sunrises you’ve ever seen. And when you get to the southern tip, there’s the East Cape and the wonders of Cabo and the surrounding areas. It is, simply put, a must-do for anyone who loves surfing. Which is why Jackson Lebsack — who, coincidentally, used to be Jamie O’Brien’s videographer – decided to take a Baja road trip.

They did it in style, too. A company called Sandy Vans gave them a vehicle to make the trip in, which is nice considering the fact that breakdowns in the middle of nowhere are… not fun. Sandy Vans is a unique idea: aside from selling and renting road trip wonders, they sell build kits to kit out your own van. And from the looks of things, Lebsack is enjoying himself.

Keep an eye on Lebsack’s YouTube channel for more episodes of the trip.
