The Mentawai Islands are the worst-kept secret in surfing. What was once a remote and secluded surf paradise is now home to an ever increasing host of surf camps and resorts catering to outsiders who want to sample the island chain’s incredible surf. One of those resorts is Kandui Villas, where Jackson Dorian has posted up to have a run at some of the best waves on the planet.
“There’s waves literally everywhere,” says Jackson at the top of the video. “You could go to one side of the island, there’ll be three good waves. You go to the other side, there’ll be another three waves, and there’s hundreds and hundreds of islands.”
