The Inertia

You’d be forgiven if you hadn’t quite heard that J-Bay is no longer on the CT. It’s a sad thing for fans of pro surfing, because J-Bay is, perhaps, one of the best canvases in the world for a surfer to show what they’re made of. It’s one of the best point breaks on the planet, so its exclusion from the Tour is a tough pill to swallow. The reason the guillotine dropped is either lack of funds or a scheduling conflict with the Olympics — or possibly a bit of both — but at least we can take solace in the fact that Cloudbreak is back on. So with that in mind, have a look at just how good J-Bay gets when a swell angle of 215 degrees with a size of eight to nine meters at 18 seconds hits it.
