Izzi Gomez is qualified to become a big wave surfer. She might not call herself that but her ability is unquestioned. Florida born, she’s won four world titles in SUP surfing and a World Surf League QS event. Her rail game is not weak. Power is her specialty.
So yes, it’s been natural for us to watch Izzi Gomez transfer those reputable performance skills into the big wave realm, which her new Red Bull series, No Small Feat, follows as she and Emily Erickson show what becoming a big wave surfer actually looks like, in all the real and raw ways.
We spoke with Izzi in an Instagram interview recently (below) about the new series, the Olympics and of course, waves of substantial size as part of our TubeTime series presented by Red Bull –all while she works to make big wave surfing a legitimate career move.
