Italo Ferreira has some extra free time on his hands. The WSL canceled the Australian leg of the tour because of COVID-19. Italo decided to take a trip to Hawaii (we’re assuming this was all filmed before traveling was a huge no-no) to surprise Jamie O’Brien.
Jamie and Italo are good friends. Jamie, in fact, recently returned from Brazil, where he spent an awful lot of time with Italo. If you were watching closely after Italo Ferreira won at Pipeline, you may have noticed something: when he was getting chaired up the beach amid the wildly cheering throngs after he won his world title, under his left butt-check was none other than Jamie O’Brien. He was huffing and puffing his way through the sand, fending off would-be Italo yankers whose outstretched hands threatened to pull the world champion from his human throne.
So when Italo showed up to Hawaii, Jamie O’Brien was psyched. After a day on the water that ended with a cooler full of fish, they had a sunset surf session. A decent way to spend a few days with good friends, right?
