Station to Station is an online series produced by Line9 (the people who put together Fergal Smith‘s Growing project) that follows professional Norwegian snowboarder Ståle Sandbech from international competitions to down time relaxing with his RK1 crew. This episode sees him back in Norway with fellow Norwegian and snowboarding legend Terje Håkonsen charging what they claim might very well be the world’s best river wave. Do they have a point?
Now, we want to be very clear: we’re not asking if this is the best river surfing. We’re asking whether or not this is the best river wave. Even Ståle and Terje would probably allude to the difficulties of quickly and adeptly transitioning from snow to surf, and that shredding isn’t as easily transferable as some might think (as evidenced by their slight lack of control in the wetter elements).
