The Inertia

Western Australia is well known for its raw, slabbing, open-ocean waves. However, that’s not always the case. The state has its fair share of fun waves too.

When the tide, swell, and wind all align correctly this perfect inside corner of a well-known break comes to life. Although it’s essentially a novelty wave, it still has its consequences. A strong rip and a shallow unforgiving reef offer a challenge for surfers. It truly is a novelty wave appropriate for a wild place like Western Australia.

This edit shows how perfect, yet tricky, this wave can be. But when the wind hits it correctly, it’s a gem.
