Italo Ferreira might well be the next Gabriel Medina. After a string of top-five finishes across the QS and Junior Tour, he’s clawed his way into the elite ranks of the WCT. But he’s only 20, and like Medina and every other up-and-comer that makes it to surfing’s big leagues, he’ll have to face off against Thunder Dome-tested old dogs in some of the biggest, heaviest waves on the planet. One thing’s for sure, though: Italo’s got one of the fastest backhand snaps we’ve seen in a long time.
