The Wedge gets all the attention. It’s a freak of nature…well, technically, it’s not a freak of nature as much as it’s a thing man accidentally created on the west end of the Newport Harbor entrance. Anyway, she gets all the credit as California’s meanest (see weirdest) distributor of water-based carnage.
Meanwhile, a couple hours up the 101 is another venue where man created a freak of a wave. Only here, while this unmistakable right first makes the ocean look like one incredibly angry force, it immediately dangles the tastiest of carrots right in front of our faces. Barrel after barrel after barrel…this place puts on quite the show, doesn’t it?
