The Inertia

As a surfer in the Bay Area you can always count on three days out of the year that will always have waves: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. I don’t have the slightest hint as to why this happens so consistently, but it just does. In the past, hangovers and family events seemed to have always kept me away from these waves. However, the older I become, the more frequently I find myself in bed promptly at 10 p.m., enabling me to see first light the next morning. Here’s a small gallery of an immaculate Bay Area swell that kicked off 2016 with a bang.
