It’s as if Oscar Moncada himself sent good waves to Puerto for day one of the Mexpipe Warriors, the second edition of a contest organized in his memory by uncle and mentor, Roger Ramirez.
More than 30 national and international surfers such as Kurt Rist, Jojo Roper, Cristian Merello, Rogercín Ramírez, Nahuel Amalfitano, Coco Nogales, Will Skudin, and Clay Marzo have come to town to honor the memory of their close friend and one of the wave’s best tube riders.
Oscar was known not only for being a big wave charger but for having a charismatic way to relate to others; always smiling and always curious about life. These were the things that earned him so much respect and brought him even closer to other surfers from all over the globe.
