And Twiggy tagged along! Sure, it’s a “sponsored” expedition by computer company Hewlett-Packard and the first couple YouTube clips feel unsettlingly similar to a trailer for a Michael Bay movie, but it’s not like the trade winds alone could blow the crew around the world. The boys need money and technology for such an ambitious trip, and we’re glad to see HP backing a journey as (literally) big as this.
With the way video edits from the continent has been flooding our feeds as of late, Africa seems like a prime place to hunt the Ghost Wave — the biggest wave never surfed.
Basically, we’ve been following by getting the frequent update from Instagram. From the looks of it, Ian brought the family along…
…for some epic views.
We mean epic.
Nothing like a little downtime…
…with the boys.
And making new friends.
While a recent clip from HP not-so-subtly hinted that they found the Ghost Wave…
…we’ve been told that Ian and Taylor weren’t satisfied and were exploring new zones.
But with Steele’s post below, it seems they found what they were searching for? “Thank you South Africa @granttwigbaker @hp @ian.walsh for an amazing journey. Watch out for video and more from our trip.”
If they did, we’re excited to see what they come back with.
